If you had more than 50 lives you've had the life glitch. That means when you get 20 kills (10 now) you keep earning 5 lives per 1 kill.

That was a glitch, your lives were reset to a fair amount.

Now the game is OUT OF BETA. That means you shouldn't encounter these sort of unfair glitches again.
