Hey guys! I finally fixed my Headless Horseman story! Enjoy!
***P.S. The Headless Horseman does not come in until chapter 6. But, Chapters 1-5 are important. It tells about the Horseman while he is alive.***
It was the American Revolution, and the American and British sides were battling in Sleepy Hollow, New York. The commander of the American side had to come up with a plan of attack. The British sides' commander recently died, and now the general was in charge. "Get me Irving Ryder." Said the commander of the American side. Irving Ryder was the top soldier in Sleepy Hollow. He had killed the amount of soldiers that have been killed on the American side. Irving was escorted into the office. "I am here, sir." Said Irving. "You must attack the main general, capture him, and bring him back here!" Exclaimed the commander. "But, Sir H-" Irving was cut off. "Don't even say anything. I have assigned you a mission. You must now follow my orders!" Exclaimed the commander. Little did Irving know the whole side of Britain was guarding their fort. Irving only trotted on his white horse to the British fort through a path in the forest. "Help me." a voice murmured, barely enough for Irving to hear. "help me." it murmured again, this time softer. Irving still trotted along, ignoring the voice. But then he thought. The voice is in need of him! Irving slowed the horse and it stopped. He got off and slowly walked, sword in hand, to the area where the voice was coming from. He tore through every bush, and finally found a small, plump, dirty man soaking wet in swamp water. He looked very ill, with hair that looked like the bottom of a mop and mucus was running down to his chest. "help-" The man couldn't finish his sentence. He was shivering and coughed. He sounded like a dying squirrel. Irving took off his cloak, and wrapped it over the man. The man was so fat, the cloak barely fit! "Just rest." Irving told the man. The man coughed, closed his eyes, and died. Irving thought he fell asleep, But that was not the truth. Irving got back on his horse and trotted along. Irving made an attempt to look happy, although no one was there to see the look on his face. No matter what he did or thought, this journey would not be easy. Only for two reasons. He could not think happy thoughts, and he had to use the bathroom. Irving was a clean man, with clean blond hair, he was about six foot tall, and was very bulky and smart. He could not tolerate using nature as a potty. Irving finally came to a stop at the fort of the British army. He inspected all sides for any guards, and when he saw none, he trotted on his horse to a secluded area in the shade and took a nap. He hoped he wouldn't get shot or sliced to pieces by a British soldier. Meanwhile, at the British fort, it was a very uneventful day. The soldiers were having a meeting. The General, and two soldiers were privately talking. "Should we just surrender?" one soldier said. "No. It is too risky." said the commander. "I am making a plan. Do not worry. It will come soon." said the General. Back in the forest, Irving woke up suddenly to the voice of a British soldier with a sword clutched in both of his hands.
