The unfortunate thing about this world is that good habits are so much easier to give up than bad ones. - Somerset Maugham.
A very true, and unfortunate statement. Today, I am here to talk about addiction. As everyone already knows, addiction is when you repeatedly something, good or bad, for a long period of time. There are two types of addictions. Bad and good. For example, when you chew you finger nails, it is not a bad addiction. But if you smoke or do any form of drugs, that is bad. Now the only way to stop your addiction is tell somebody, that is half the battle.
Addiction begins with the hope that something "out there" can instantly fill up the emptiness inside. - Jean Kilbourne.
So that being said, you must find something to occupy yourself throughout the day, be it a stamp collection or even a simple card collection will do fine. Another great way to prevent yourself from the use of these substances is to simply seperate yourself, from both that substance and sometimes, even your friends. Because being in a wrong crowd of people with pressure coming from that crowd can lead to something you may regret later on. Even talking to someone who has past experiences with these kinds of things can obviously help you.
Addiction is a sympton of not growing up
It is as simple as that, sometimes you need to look past your friends and the pressure, and just grow up. Now I sincerely hope you have learned a thing or two about this post.
