There have been times where I say something positive about myself like "I'm really funny", "I'm pretty", or "I have nice nails" and I'll get a response like "Narcissist" or "You have a big ego". This is absolutely not true, there is a big difference between being positive about yourself and having a big ego. I've decided to make a post about this because I think it's very bad that users can take away someone's confidence by labeling them as self-centered.

CONFIDENCE

Confidence is being certain of something, whether you're confident that someone won't break your trust, or that you're confident you can do anything you set your mind to.

It's very important that people have confidence. Without confidence you will be too scared to do anything, even leave the house. You become depressed.

You should always be confident and believe that you can do anything you put your mind to.

CONCEITED

When you are conceited, you believe you are better then everyone else. You are prettier then that person, you will do better than everyone, ect..

This is a false sense of pride, and it can upset and annoy others around you.

If you think you are conceited, you should try to change yourself. (Unfortunately, some people have personality disorders that they cannot control no matter how hard they try. This isn't their fault)

To avoid upsetting someone and destroying their confidence, you should try to remember this:

CONFIDENT QUOTES:
"I'm very pretty today!"
"I love my hair"
"My laugh is so cute"
"I have big muscles"
"I'm a fast runner"

CONCEITED QUOTES:
"I am prettier than everyone"
"My hair is better, your hair sucks"
"My laugh is the cuter than your laugh"
"I'm the strongest person alive"
"You all are not very fast, you should be more like me"

If someone is being positive about themselves, you shouldn't tear them down. Some people work all their lives to just say one good thing about themselves and actually mean it. Pleases don't ever say something like "You have a big ego" unless you are 10000% sure that it won't hurt the person's feelings.

I hope you learned something by reading this! I want to make sure this was understandable and give you questions for you to answer. You obviously don't have to do this, but it'd be great if you did <3

QUESTIONS
Is this conceited or confident?
1. "I am so pretty! I love myself so much"
2. "You aren't as cool as me"
3. You are better than me.
4. That was really funny! I can tell way better jokes though.
5. I am a very beautiful person.

Remember to always say positive things about yourself but don't ever bring others down to bring yourself up
