Whenever someone is born, it's an extremely special time. But that time couldn't have happened if it wasn't for our mothers. And when it's their birthday or mother's day, when we go buy them a gift, they're the ones who have given us the real gift: life. And on July 11, 1973, the whole world received a gift. That gift was an angel who would go on to become my mother decades later. She was a gift to me before I was even born, because when she was born, that meant that I would be born.

In the year 2000, she gave birth to me. Ever since my birth, she has always been amazing to me and everyone else. For many people, the word "love" is hard to define, but to me, the definition has always been simple: Mom. There are always cruel people though, and even though she was friendly to everyone, I witnessed people bullying her. People called her "ugly", (insert every inappropriate name you can think of here) and so fourth. And when you decide to start crushing people's spirits, a reflection of yourself is not there anymore. You're only hallucinating. What's actually there is the word "cruel". But you're too busy taking people's confidence out of them to look close into the mirror and see the word. I'm not letting you be a thief anymore.

But even though people made her think that she looks "ugly", I always told her that I can feel her heart because it affects me in a good way, and her heart is beautiful. In 2014, I told her that she is what has always kept my world of happiness spinning and I love her very much. She passed away just the next day.

A few days later a kid who could still see both parents everyday said "good" after I told him that my mom died. Some people just enjoy hearing about people dying, and they can taste what I feel like and like it. Making meals out of what I feel. I guess they're not eating, because I'm not letting them make their meals of sorrow anymore.

I am not letting it.

Thanks for not being like that. Unlike them, you don't play hide-and-seek and hide yourself in a tidal wave of cruelty that just grabs people and rips out their confidence. When you on the other hand look into the mirror, the word "special" is there.
