Ok, so I have seen many members double posting, flooding, and all this others stuff.
I am telling you what you should do making a post or discussion. (e.g) means example and I will be showing what to do and what not to do.
1. Keep it simple, do not repeat yourself.
Good (e.g) Congrats for getting the moderator position, I believed in you! You will be so good at doing this, and you have respected others along with having a great personality. You are very nice, friendly, and you deserve this position for everything you have done for us. You are very trusted, and I know you will do your very best and will work hard.
Bad (e.g) Congrats for getting the moderator position. I am stoked you got mod rank. This is so awesome, and is blowing my mind! It is cool you became mod.
2. Be nice, and kind. Do NOT involve anyone. My example person is "radicaldude567" This is if you are reporting what many people did.
Good (e.g) Many people have done this thing and I need someone to stop this. It is annoying and I hope that everyone kindly consumes this into their knowledge.
Bad (e.g) Okay, so this guy named Radicaldude567 and others have been doing this thing, and I want you to stop it. He is a bad player for doing this, and I want people to be nice.
3. Do not Spam/Flood
For Spamming:
Good (e.g) You are so nice and I want you to know that this is why you made me stay. I really know that you are a gr8 person and you will do your best.
Bad (e.g) ur nice.
For Flooding: This is a story that happened today. (So&so) did this, and I wanted him banned.
EDIT: He told me he was sorry and I forgave him. Plz do not ban him, my mistake.
Bad (e.g)
First Post: (So&so) did
Second Post: this. Make him
Third post: banned.
Fourth Post: Oops, he
Fifth Post: He said sorry, and
Sixth Post: I forgave him
Seventh and final post: don't ban him.
He flooded, or made too many posts on a discussion. Edit if you can. Make the edit bold so everyone can see. Put the text in the middle of to make it bold.
That goes for double/multiple posting where you post more than once instead of just editing.
4. It is okay to use abbreviations and all, but do not use bad grammar that everyone gets annoyed with.
Good (e.g) Plz unban this person. I know that (s)he is innocent. (s)he was hacked, and I tracked the person hacking down.
Notice how I only abbreviated please to plz or pls.
Bad (e.g) Plz unbn did persn. I know dis persn is inecont. (s)he was hact and I twacked de persn hakin 'em.
Not good...
5. Use apostrophes and commas to have one big sentence. Also use punctuation correctly.
Good (e.g) Hi, I am new on oldcp. I am very excited to meet you all! I want to have tons of fun, and try cool things!
Bad (e.g) Hi I am new to oldcp? I am very excited to me you all I want to have tons of fun and try cool things.
6. Make something on a post relevant or related to the topic it is on.
Good (e.g) for a discussion on Having fun. I like to have fun on oldcp, and I hope you do too! There are many things that interest me, and are super cool!
Bad (e.g) for a discussion on having fun. I like to have fun on oldcp. EAT MOR CHIKIN! I want you to too! I LIKE PIEEEEE! Many things interest me, and they are really cool! #PAINTINGARAINBOW!
My point is keep it related to the topic.
Making a good Discussion/post if you didn't want to read all of this:
1. Do not repeat things and keep it simple.
2. Do not involve anyone specific unless it is a report on a bad penguin or congratulating someone. It might ruin their reputation.
3. Do not make more than one post and do not make so many posts on one discussion.
4. have some abbreviations, but do not have bad grammar.
5. Use right punctuation.
6. Keep your posts relevant to the topic.
Examples on a good and bad discussion for say the new administrator Hashir:
Good Example: I am so happy you have recieved this wonderful Admin position Hashir! I know you will try your best at helping this great website, and that you will do an outstanding job! I am so excted because i always wanted this moment to happen, and i know someday that i will be able to follow you in your footsteps!
Bad Example on a report to someone. My example person is "tootsforyouXD"
tootsforyouXD haz been cizzing at mny peeps and izn't followin da rulez. Hez very mean
Next post: iz cuzzing and doez mean thingz TOOTSFORYOUXD! FUNNY TOOTS!!! yah so btw ban himz bcuz he stinx and is rude to meh!
Last Post: DUH CASTLEZ ROCK! LOL!
3 things to remember when posting a discussion.
1. Hook the reader with something making them want to read it.
2. Make a good discussion. Make it so that it is like interesting throughout the discussion.
3. End it with a signature or something to end your post with.
So now you know the Do's and Don'ts on making a discussion. Hope you liked it!
