If you're new to Minecraft, then you probably heard of Herobrine.
Herobrine
Herobrine is a legend thought to be Notch's dead brother. (He doesn't have a brother)
He would go onto single player servers and scare the user or attack the user. Other people say that he doesn't do anything. Herobrine has the same skin as Steve, but with white eyes instead. Eyewitnesses claim that he can teleport and has a lot of heath, making him difficult to kill.
A tweet from Notch says that Herobrine is not a real user, but they may add him to the game. Still, this doesn't stop the chain of users who claim to see him, yet have no actual proof that they did. There are a lot of videos on Youtube that claim to be Herobrine sightings or how to summon him, but lots were proven fake or were modded.
