Minecraft Mac Socket error

So I recently got the new minecraft launcher instead of the JAVA one, and now I'm getting some socket errors and the servers are down now. People that use windows can still go on, but I don't know why I can't. Can anyone help me?

Alrighty, you will need to check this website for the MC status. This is usually normal, but annoying. If you experience this, then you will have to wait for the servers to come back up...

Minecraft.net is offline, their servers are down because they are testing the 1.9 servers, it's not a bug or anything, just wait for some hours, it will probably get fixed tomorrow, or today.

this happened to me just a while ago on my minecraft account. it started to work after when i restarted the game.

it's trying to send data to the minecraft servers, your internet is fine, and the minecraft servers are failing, it's on minecrafts side, I believe there skin servers were down before, so everything should be back up soon.
