Before I start, yes I broke rules on Ioldcp. Rules I didn't even know existed. If I actually knew OldCP rules applied to this OldCP clone (which I admit should've been a given) I wouldn't have cussed.
Let me explain, myself and many others where under the impression rules didn't apply to this for many reasons. Many of us had just joined the Ioldcp discord the day of release, and many people said no rules where established
and that cussing was allowed. Not only that, the so called launch had no admins on other than Harrison who wasn't present for any of this, and Dunk who was on Puffin. I joined users in spamming Harrison with snowballs as a joke and he just shot us, this further led us to believe that Ioldcp had no rules because on OldCP I wouldn't be shot for spamming snow balls I'd be kicked or arrested. On top of this the only mods where Swirlie and Lush who didn't really do much because they probably didn't know OldCP rules applied to this either. Why? Because of poor administration and now instead of Dunk trying to fix this he made a post shaming the users instead of apologizing for his bad communication skills. But to wrap this post up, I'd like to say sorry if my swearing offended anyone because last time I checked most of the users here are around 14 and up and could care less about swearing, nonetheless I'm sorry. And when Ioldcp returns I'll follow the rules because get this, I'll actually know they existed.

Why shouldn't I? It's their jobs to administrate the game and to keep things in check.

ngl I told you in-game that there was the same rules (not to be a jerk or anything I was just using common knowledge after already clicking the rules page prior to playing and seeing it was all the same information) but I agree with this post because there should have been some announcement above the game like "SAME RULES APPLY" and the staff should have been online during the release moderating. This was SEVERELY unplanned and at least 3 people died on there while I was online, absolute madness...

I seriously didn't see you tell me this, my bad. But you make a ton of great points.

Personally, I was only online for 5 minutes and logged off lol, but you have made some valid points and it would have even be good just to have a global, to make it clear for the users online. Thank you for this post Ian!

Didn't Swirlie and Lush get promoted minutes before it was shut down? I personally think you guys still could've done a better job making users aware of rules because we spent a solid 5 minutes asking if we could swear and a bunch of trusted users on the community (not gonna name names) said I could so I took their word for it. But you're right if I was really curious I should've checked the rules tab but nobody reads the rules tab when they join a game. I think Ioldcps failure is ultimately just miscommunication and now that we know we should give it another shot. Plus I was shot because I threw a snowball at Harrison so I assumed their wasn't any rules, but next time I won't jump to conclusions, and I'm sorry for pushing so much of the blame at you. I know a lot of this was out of your control.
