I want to see a version of oldcp.biz that plays and feels like the original CP with the old parties, rooms, catalogs, newspaper

This is Old Club Penguin but with a twist. We have many unique events like Game of Mods (a 3 day competition between teams that people form and there's 1 winner that gets Moderator, it's happening this coming weekend) and jousts occasionally, and other cool stuff like weapons, ranks, and even something we call CrimeZone which is based off mostly Tolkien lore.

That's a good idea. OldCP has that (with a twist). Making a full replica of the game would be boring, I believe.

My problem with GoM and jousting is that all I get to do is sit around and watch people DIE thats another reason I don't think a game about cartoon penguins should have death in it but hey that's just my opinion

I feel like OldCP gives people the best of multiple worlds. Do you have a taste of experiencing the old design language of the "old Club Penguin" everyone remembers? We have that, and some of the games, rooms, etc... Do you desire to have some in-game events? We have that covered. Sometimes we also encounter certain parties that allow us to also venture into the old parties e.g. the Fair!

I don't believe OldCP will ever be just another replica of Club Penguin, and I believe that's a good thing. Having OldCP have routes to the old Club Penguin makes us unique apart from many CPPS communities, and us having the little twists like jousts, the empire, etc really just makes OldCP that more unique. I get that people may not like the little things that make OldCP entirely stand out from any other CPPS, but perhaps give them a shot. I once rebelled against the whole Empire theme, but now I find myself to enjoy it more than before. Learn to accept change.

What makes OldCP unique is the Crimezone, and weapons, and Empire. Without it the game would be boring, just like any other cpps.

I get that CZ and all that is the unique edge that we have sharpened ever so vigorously over the years to get us to be a standout CPPS, but I do believe we’re lacking on the OldCP front. It’s basically just the old map and old clothes, no games or catalogues or more parties etc

I guess that’s something DSGHQ can work on, to get more Old Club Penguin nostalgists on board!

I myself once pondered about this idea as well. I never understood many of the elements that is contained in modern-day OldCP. Looking back at it now, the reason OldCP has been around for many years is due to the current success. It has been rebuilt many times but still maintains majority, if not all, of the community on here today. The success is heavily dependent the features of the actual game which seems to be pleasing to many. There have been many Club Penguin servers that have attempted to recreate the original that have come and gone, and sure, while that may give a nostalgic feeling for many, people always prefer more to do when it comes to keeping up with the game. I can say what current OldCP comprises of is unique indeed, and while personally I couldn't grasp the concept, I respect the activity and effort kept in maintaining its goal of keeping the nostalgic CP feeling while adding this new content. Creating a new version of OldCP would be ambiguous, and really there wouldn't be a point when the closest you can get is the actual game itself.

What a good suggestion would be to move the product forward is to incorporate more old elements of CP rather than just making an entirely new version. The theme wouldn't ever change, but it can look more appealing to those who prefer the more simplistic look like me. New players would struggle to understand anything that is going on if they aren't a member of the forums, which can be worked on as well, but that's just a suggestion since I am incorporating my own opinions in this post as well.

tl;dr I wouldn't count on an "actual" OldCP version soon. They can make changes to the current game to improve the feeling, however.
