Wanna keep this short.
Lately the vibe has been very serious around here and many people are scrapping with each other left, right and centre. It’s gotten to the extent that I don’t even know what’s a jokey fight to what has underlying meaning. It’s not very welcoming to the new users, the returning ones, and the ones which are still here. It’s gotten really aggressive, it’s been very lethargic around here too - I’ve covered this in a post previously about the inactivity and how “dead” it is around here.
Do you guys agree or disagree? I’d like to see your views on how you’re feeling about this topic and I’d like to see if anyone could cheer my mind! Also, stay tuned for something coming up very soon...

If I'm being completely honest, thats just how its been for the past 2 years. I can't really explain it but after tolerating 2 years of peoples criticism, you choose to be rude instead of nice. I think its much better now though and 90% of the arguments on here are on discord instead of oldcp and forums.

I agree with Sugar, this community as a whole has been drifting for quite awhile. There's nothing much we can do to alter it really, people have the right to act as they want to and we have to tolerate it to say the least. Surely I too miss the "old days" (2013-2016ish) where things were lively, entertaining, and fun. I still am grateful that I can log on daily and still see familiar faces and connect with them whenever I get the chance to.

What I mean entirely by what I said is we can't fully alter what people do. Surely if it's against our rules we have to step in and warn and/or kick, ban, suspend (depending where things are happening) and handle things. But in general the "vibe" around here is something that would be difficult to change.

The "vibe", as Sadie pointed, is not easily alterable. Surely we can ban users, but that won't really change the "vibe". Its been aggressive, indeed, and obviously that's not the best way to welcome new users. All this creates and spreads an incalculable malaise that plagues our community.

If I'm being honest it's way less actual drama and way more shade. Back then when people could joke around with everyone and nobody would take it fr and it would all just be fun. Now people are have a tendency to take things to heart and feel as if they are being personally attacked. Becuase of this everyone is constantly having to watch what they say in order to not hurt anyone's "feelings". ( I'm not supporting anyone being actually mean) But I feel people just need to grow a thicker skin and get over it

I joined oldcp in 2013, and I've been gone for a couple years. Like once every 6 months I come online and I've noticed a steady decline in the community. Forums and oldcp were like a very important thing to me when I was younger because I met some amazing people, so it's hard to see it when everybody is leaving or fighting. Oldcp was made to mimic the "old days" of clubpenguin but, in reality, the thing that made this place fun was the people. It became less about clubpenguins "glory days" and more about the people. And tbh this became a better game than clubpenguin ever was, because of the community. You can't change people, and as much as I would love to see the old- oldcp and forums I don't think we ever will.
