Rigbys Forums Moderator Application

Hey everyone, so today ill be applying for the role of Forums Mod on the forums. Ive been considering applying for this position for awhile and recently when I had heard Sleds post about bullying I decided to apply for Forums Mod. But rather than just explaining it all here in a long introduction Id rather skip that and get straight into it so here we go.


>> Experience <<
So I have had a bit experience especially between last year and this year in Moderation and Administration as well as the odd job on this community.
Discord: On Discord I have had been gaining a lot of experience on a busy fandom server which features around 1.5k members, on that very server I've been a Trial Moderator, Moderator and now i'm an administrator, which means for me i'm making bigger decisions for that server and its a big step up from normal moderator work.I have gained quite a bit of experience from just working on the server of course such as enforcing the rules and making sure that the users actually follow them. Of course i'm no angel here but if I do become a Forums Moderator i'm more than aware of the responsibility of enforcing and making sure users follow those rules as well as making a fair judgement and punishment for the people who don't.
I've also been running a server that has roughly around 300 members but at the moment i've been working on that to improve the server.
DSGHQ / OldCP: Unfortunately I haven't been able to show the community my own capabilities to its full potential but I still have been somewhat apart of the community's economy. One of the major ones being that I was a Penguin Watch Agent twice, once in Kara's leadership and the other in Sadie's Leadership as Senior Captain. This was my first opportunity and they were fun, it taught me more on how moderation on this community goes (although in recent times it hasnt been the exact same) and it helped me grow the experience I needed so I could apply for ranks like this today.
Ive also been a War Knight but for reasons I decided to drop out, it was a nice experience but it didn't make much of an impact when it came to growing my experience in moderation, although it wasn't a bad time being a War Knight but I didn't enjoy it since it didn't give me the literal duties of a Moderator.
Another one that kind of counts was Mals OldCP Server, I had been a Moderator on there until its closure.
JamesCP: I don't know to properly count this one but I will anyways, I've been numerous ranks on JamesCP but mainly Administrator and Occasionally a co-owner, since its closure it was laid on me to try and continue the game and the progress isn't as much as I was hoping for but its good progress so far. But Ive been mainly a Administrator when it came to the game as well as developing a couple of swfs and making a website/website project on the game (unfortunately because of some of the drama that had occurred from lies about the game, I decided to drop the project since the game needed to grow again)

>> What would you do as a Forums Moderator? <<
I have answered this question before in past applications and ive always known the obvious but never went into detail. Of course as a Forums Moderator im going to do my duties not to just the best of my own ability but to the best of the communities. I wanna make sure that the rules are properly enforced by both users and staff, although this is something that can simply be done it hasnt really been done. What I mean is that as a Moderator I would treat anyone fairly and everyone fairly and make sure all Users are at an equal level with eachother because we are all equal no matter what ranks we have and our experience.
Personally, I see that the rules arent enforced as they used to and im happy to see that there has been some action on it, but I wanna make sure that as a Moderator that action is carried out to the point where we can get rid of some of the toxicity and some of the unequality that this server has and I think that this can be easily done since weve a community where we can all be close and personal to eachother and it somes like the links like those have been broken and its sad to see how its changed to be much different.
So in Conclusion, as Moderator I dont only wanna do my job but I wanna make sure that this community can enforce the rules so we can all be on the best of terms with eachother and although the progress has been made, it can always be gone in a flash.

>> How much of an impact would you make as a Moderator? <<
Im answering this question with all complete honesty. I dont know but is that really a bad thing? I think its good that I dont know because then I can make sure that I leave a good impact and good impressions for you all and I dont think questions like that can simply decide whether or not I should have the role. I think what should is my experience and my dedication and I know thats hard to look at sometimes, especially since I havent gained the trust of current staff and former staff and I think thats a good thing because id rather prove myself to be a good Moderator rather than have people already know, because then it doesnt help me at all showing Ive got the experience and the good mindset to do well.

I think that its a good time for me to apply, especially at times where this community is now looking more into improving its self to deal with some of the problems that goes on in the platform. Im someone whos active and happy to help and I know that atleast I can give it a go and that I can atleast try and help with those problems but only if im given the opportunity for once. I know im someone who can be a bit too realistic at times but thats a good thing because then atleast I have a voice and a say and thats something I can use to create a bond with both Users and Staff aswell as enforce the rules and put all on a equal plain field.
