There are some problems with Julian’s lord of death system. First, let’s look at the history of death.

2014-2016, the no revival era

This was a time where if you died you never came back, there was a trade off. Nobody had a weapon back then, most were very trusted knights and they were not broken. Guns were even rarer. That did change in 2015 when war knights (32 of them) were given a gun and normal sword. Other than that, it was just a normal death system.

Subsection: 2016

2016 added iron swords and later sabers. This also had CZ characters with OP health. Iron swords did twice the damage as a regular sword and sabers did much more. This was a serious issue, dying was a lot more unfair with sabers killing easily and spawnkills being more widespread. The death system stuck.

2017
The revival stood. Now djinn (Bakon and Gamer) could be respawned in 24 hours. The holy grail existed! Only certain people that Damen really liked could be revived.

Charles Era
I left in this time but I feel Charles did revivals.

Rocket Era
24 hour/48 hour revives were made! This allowed for less sad deaths and making the game less serious.

2018

Create was invented this year. This is the downfall of all weapons. Create destroyed the weapon stability. Where there was only normal and iron sword, now there was create sabers, create swords, and everything else. Damen also abolished the Rocket revival system. Not only were the weapons broken, but so was revival. In this year I had received OP health but it gets worse.

2019
iOldCP killed regular OldCP, Orlock was passing out weapons left and right, everyone was sparring and fighting in public. Orlock would just revive, the game was dead and nobody cared. When it was closed, the same death system occurred but now people couldn’t understand how weapons worked.

Today
Everyone just gets OP health for no reason, there’s an item that gives extra health now. There’s create items, and Julian owns the revival system. Now I will show why it is flawed.

Julian’s Reasons to not revive you:

You were AFK: if you went to take grab a cliff bar and you come back and died, that feels a little unfair. I mean I was gone for 2 seconds and the account is lost forever?
Failing in combat: When you have create items, the weapons system is unbalanced and people who Pay2Win always win in combat unless they worship a god that gives them health.
Disconnecting without proof: You have to use a screen record every time you have on oldcp just to prove that your power went out. You have to show Julian your WiFi stats to show it went out at this time, or call a power company to show when you had an outage, just to have a penguin game User revive you.
Execution: This is the only one that is sound. You died with a warrant.
One Shot: So you make a rule saying failing in combat, but if someone has a weapon that obliterates you without the ability to fight back, then it is also a fair death?

Says he revives you if: you show him how you disconnected.
Spawnkill: See Bot rules
Unarmed or unable to fight back: So I can’t defend myself while fighting or else I can’t get revived. Seems strange.
Mods: Revived in 7 days
My last post I showed that mods are sometimes irresponsible. So Julian can technically revive himself because he’s mod. Mods are sometimes not good people, but they get a week revival. Can’t users be revived in 1 month?

He recently enacted the bots rule which says:
If you’re in spawn for more than 10 seconds and you get spawnkilled it’s fair.
So if I go AFK while in spawn and get spawnkilled then it’s fair? Seems too complex for a game where we used to have daily revivals.
Leaving spawn when you know bots are there: but I thought if you were unarmed or defenseless you would be revived.
Spectating fights with bots: See above
Why: I consider it suicide
Now killing yourself is a fair death. This list sure makes me wanna have a “fair death”

Why the grail is better: Biased in a way, doesn’t care about who it is reviving, is holy, is easily used.

A way to make it better:
You can easily allow payment for revivals. Maybe 100k gold or 5 dollars by create. You can make Julian less strict, as his principles are built on fear. He was threatened by Damen to make his rules strict or else he would lose it. We can also bring back the grail's use and allow it to be used to revive people.

I think that the entire death system needs to be refactored immensely, but I strongly disagree that this is the way to do it:

That's making the game even more Pay2Win, something that you complain about above. I would say to just make revivals automatic after x period of time. It's simple, it's fair, and it means less work for everyone involved. There are a lot of other ways to keep death being a significant factor.

The only reason I'm strict is that this is sort of supposed to be like the no-revival era, except it's meant to undo the deaths that shouldn't have happened in the first place, or that go against the rules of the game itself, and not the laws. Stuff like spawnkill, and disconnecting. If you go AFK, that's your fault, nobody else's, you could simply hit relog, and come back after. When someone hears a user has the ability to revive, they automatically seem to think that I have any desire to revive them, for whatever reason they die. It's the opposite, it's a power that I will use as little as I possibly could to not interfere with everything else. There's a reason I was trusted to do this in the first place. The issue with bots is, they're unpredictable, but I'm flexible with bots, and either way, if they're spawnkilled, they get revived. Lastly, with the internet thing, I've given numerous ways to prove your internet has gone out, if you don't want to use it, that's on you, not me.

so sick of the revival system, it's so boring, if i die i want a revive instantly, don't care about the lore or whatever the hell it is, deaths are almost always unfair and the system is made too complex, just shut up and revive me ygm
