Hello every penguin. Right now I just got the message from Damen's latest discussion that OldCp is by today, shutting down, and the forum will probably turn into a "Damen's Games" to remember it. But, later today I was going to post the best way to revise your posts, so that is what I am going to do
Okay, so you know how a lot of times how you mess up your post, and you say something completely wrong, or your picture does not show? Well here are easy tips to make the perfect post you wanted:
Step 1) Incorrect spelling is the easiest to correct, so what you do is school through what you are posting, and see if there are any red lines under any words. If it is spelled wrong, use spell check, or fix the mistake on your own.
Step 2) Grammar is also very important, but depending on how long your post is, you might want to skim through it, and read aloud and see if you hear any mistakes.
Step 3) Images has an easy tip for you if you need to see if your image url works. First, copy all of your discussion. Next, open a new tab and go to the community. You will now go to messages, and send a message to (Your forum name). Now, you paste your discussion/post in the description, and post this to yourself. If you see any of the pictures do not work, fix them by putting them on photobucket.com or lightshot or something like that.
Step 4) Commands can sometimes be hard to use, such as and , and you can mess up easily. To get help if you don't know, you can open a tab, and look up a post that talks about what the taskbar for posting can do. You now use your knowledge to complete it, and if you want, you can do what you did in step three, where you sent a message to yourself, to see if the command worked.
Step 5) Is it off-topic? Copy the link of the post, and get a new tab and paste the link of the discussion. You re-read the discussion/post again, to see if you are posting on-topic. Posting good posts/discussions can get you more ranks, and more trust.
Step 6) Is my post in the wrong section? If you are making a discussion, make sure to think about what you are typing about, and then go to the community index in a different tab. After you do this, put your mouse over the sections, and wait for a second. It will show the description of each section, and you will now find out which category your discussion should go in.
Step 7) The final step is to copy the post when you are done, if it is a long post, because if it is long, and for some reason something bad happens, then your paragraph is lost. So, if your post/discussion is long, copy the who;e thing a few times while you are creating the post.
Make sure to follow the rules, and you are golden! Good luck on your journey fellow penguins!
