The Game of Kings was a royalty competition that took place on Snaildom in order to find the King Regent and Queen Regent. The members involved in the competition were hand picked by the Emperor himself. Like the Game of Mods, the Game of Kings competition had several sessions in which the contestants had to participate in different tasks in order to prove their worthiness of the rank.

Introduction

On the 8th of October, Damen Spike had announced that there will be a Game of Kings competition. Damen Spike explained that even though Sofie is the Queen of the DSGHQ, Snaildom will need separate rulers just for it's kingdom, which is why there would be a Game of Kings competition. On Snaildom, the Regent of Rulership when the Emperor isn't involved, is the King and the Queen regent.

In order to sign up, experienced members of the community were allowed to make a Game of Kings application to get into the competition.

Damen Spike also announced that the Queen, Emperor Helper, Emperor, and Prince would be the only judges for the Game of Kings competition, but the royal wise ones were also allowed to advise the royalty with their decision. The ultimate decision of the King and Queen Regents would belong to the Emperor.

Stage 1

On the first day of the Game of Kings competition, Emperor Damen Spike started off by announcing the candidates. These candidates had to gather into boy-girl pairs for the competition.

Task 1

Task 1 was to propose a law to prevent propaganda spreading in Crimezone situations. After the task, Jacob was fired from the competition.

Task 2

Task 2 was to determine situations in which the King and Emperor would handle treasoners. At the end, Damen fired Starwolf from the competition, ending Game of Kings day one.

Stage 2

The contestants that participated in Stage 2 were:

Task 1

Task 1 was to create a guideline for the King Helper's choice to share responsibilities to either the Queen or Emperor Helper. At the end of the task, Bp28 was cut from the Game of Kings.

Task 2

In Task 2, all of the contestants had to work together to stage a court session in the Bank. The contestants had to decide who acts as the accused, who is the judges, wise one, and court master. Sadie was fired at the end of this task, ending Stage 2 of the Game of Kings.

Stage 3

Stage 3 was the final stage of the Game of Kings competition. The contestants that participated in Stage 3 were:

Task 1

In Task 1, the contestants had to make up a routine for the King and Queen to keep so that they were always in touch with the Emperor. Hashir was fired at the end of this task.

Task 2

In Task 2, the contestants had to create a process for dealing with protests. Little was fired at the end of task 2.

Finalists

The finalists of the Game of Kings were:

Cyberwolf paired up with Cheep and Sled paired up with Dancebear. In the end of the Game of Kings competition, Cyberwolf was crowned as King Regent of Snaildom and Cheep was crowned as Queen Regent of Snaildom.

Development

Snaildom began development on the 5th of February 2014. Firstly, a client which became able to login to an account made shape. Then multiplayer features such as chatting, moving and rooms were created.

Below are some images of the early developments of Snaildom. The users in the images were all created by Damen Spike for testing.







It took around 7 months to complete the game. Much longer than SnailsChat took, which was only 3 months. The delay was due to Damen Spike completing his last year in secondary school.

Beta Era

Beta Testing (or the Beta Era) began on September 29th 2014 and lasted until October 4th 2014. Most beta testers however were not given access until the third day. Bugs were found quickly and fixed. The beta testers were so efficient, testing lasted less then a week. For their hard work, Beta Testers were granted the Snaildom Beta forum badge and the Rainbow Shell on Snaildom.

Public Launch

When Snaildom opened to the public, the Golden Era began. The game was still being updated and going under improvements, but the game was full of life. Civilian jobs were introduced, giving users the chance to be a part of the Snaildom experience.

Events

Four major events have taken place on Snaildom during the early Golden Era. Series 9 of the Game of Mods was held on Snaildom, as well as a Damenball style WCI. Two new events were featured too, a Game of Kings, to determine who would become the King and Queen Regent of Snaildom, and the Emperors Apprentice Competition, to determine which lucky user would be granted the opportunity to learn Damen's skills.

King Regent Cyberwolf

After ten hard and demanding stages of the Game of Kings, Cyberwolf and Cheep were crowned King and Queen Regents of Snaildom to serve under Emperor Damen, who stepped down as King. King Cyberwolf, then elected Tennis as his and the first King Helper of Snaildom.

Improvements

Overtime new features were added to Snaildom, including Damenball, the Cinema, Snaildrop and new Mazes/Quests. Every month new items are featured in the Style Store and Furniture Shop.

Crime

Very little crime has appeared on Snaildom so far. There has only been one incident so far, a ghost named Silorn was attacking users and making them fall unconscious. The matter was resolved quickly and all those harmed were revived.

Damenball is a game very similar to Soccer, and first appeared on OldCP. The game is very popular and can be played by anyone at anytime. Games traditionally last 10 minutes. The two teams are Green and Red. A Damenball tournament was used to find the Autumn 2014 World Champion. Each goal is worth 10 gold

Books

The library features original stories written by DSGHQ users. Stories are submitted in a forum post, if chosen the author is awarded with the Snaildom Author badge. Books can be bought for 5 coins or more, the price depends on the stories length and quality. New stories are chosen at random. The stories are from all different genres and styles.

Cinema

The Cinema is a room where TV can be live-streamed and watched on Snaildom. It can be accessed through the Throne Room. Showings are random, and have no set time length as they must be done manually. The Cinema was launched around two months after the Golden Era began.
